The company assured, "Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and we are collaborating with emergency services to ensure the site's safety for a prompt damage assessment."
The incident prompted a response from numerous fire engines, police vehicles, and ambulances at the plant, which specializes in converting food waste into biogas.
The Thames Valley Police department stated, "It is believed that gas containers at the site were struck by lightning during adverse weather conditions this evening, leading to a significant fire."
