Lewis Hamilton radiates renewed energy and enthusiasm as he joins Ferrari, preparing for the upcoming Formula 1 season after departing from Mercedes. Alongside teammate Charles Leclerc, Hamilton aims to help Ferrari secure its next driver's world championship since 2007.
Lewis Hamilton is embracing his new beginning at Ferrari with renewed energy, telling fans he feels "full of life" and "invigorated" as he prepares for the upcoming Formula 1 season.
The seven-time world champion made these comments during F1's official launch show at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday, where he appeared alongside teammate Charles Leclerc and Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur to unveil the team's new car design.
"The word that I am thinking of is invigorated because I feel so full of life and so much energy because everything is new," a visibly enthusiastic Hamilton told the cheering crowd. "I'm just focused on what's up ahead. I'm so proud to be part of the team, something new and exciting for me."
Hamilton, 40, sent shockwaves through the motorsport world last year when he announced his departure from Mercedes after 12 seasons to join the iconic Italian manufacturer. He has since described the move as the realization of a lifelong dream.
The British driver will partner with Leclerc as Ferrari seeks its first driver's world championship since Kimi Räikkönen's triumph in 2007.
Leclerc expressed his own excitement about the upcoming season and his new high-profile teammate. "If I have to choose one word, I was going to say fulfillment – fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming a Formula 1 world champion," Leclerc reflected. "But I think the one that fits better is probably honored – honored to be part of this team."
The Monegasque driver added: "It's been a dream of mine since being a child, growing up with the red dream. I'm living the dream and I'm just super honored to be part of this team. I'm really, really looking forward to hopefully writing history alongside Lewis."
Formula 1 preseason testing begins in Bahrain on February 26, with the 2025 season officially launching at the Australian Grand Prix on March 16.
