Kyle Richards Reacts to Garcelle Beauvais' controversial comment on sexuality in RHOBH
Kyle Richards and Garcelle Beauvais have a tense moment on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after Garcelle makes a bold comment about Kyle’s sexuality. Following Kyle’s split from Mauricio Umansky, rumors about her friendship with Morgan Wade resurface. Garcelle encourages authenticity, while Kyle questions Garcelle’s intentions, leading to a clash over personal boundaries and public perception.
Kyle Richards wasn’t pleased with Garcelle Beauvais’ comment about her sexuality on the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills . “What was really going through my head was, ‘You’re being an a—–e right now,’” Kyle, 56, said about Garcelle, 58, during the RHOBH: After Show on Tuesday, January 14. “Don’t act like it was an innocent mistake. You knew exactly what you were doing.” The moment unfolded during Tuesday’s episode when Kyle was discussing her separation from Mauricio Umansky. Garcelle chimed in, saying, “Do whatever the f— you want to do. Be whoever you want to be. If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian.” Kyle initially appeared shocked, but the group eventually laughed off the remark. Garcelle later explained her intentions: “What I meant was, we’re grown-ass women. We’re mothers, we’re grandmothers. I wasn’t trying to pressure her to come out. I was saying, ‘Be whoever you want to be.’” Since Kyle’s split from Mauricio in July 2023, fans have speculated about her friendship with country singer Morgan Wade. Both Kyle and Morgan, 30, have denied being romantically involved, though Morgan was frequently discussed during RHOBH season 13. In November 2024, Kyle told Us Weekly that it’s “not fair” for their friendship to be a topic of conversation on the show. On the aftershow, Kyle questioned Garcelle’s motives. “Was she trying to get a reaction from me? What are you really trying to say?” Kyle asked, adding that Garcelle didn’t apologize for her comment. Garcelle, however, stood by her perspective, emphasizing the importance of authenticity. “I’m not trying to call her out. Own it, be authentic,” she said. “Kyle cares a lot about what people think and how things look. She’s trying to figure it out, but at our age, we don’t need to worry so much about what others think.” She suggested that being open and authentic could resonate more with people. “If this is who you are, or even if you’re still figuring it out, embrace it and own it,” Garcelle said.
